Even after several months in his foster home he continues to regularly show new aspects of his personality. Recently we discovered that Hillman MUST be adopted into a family with another cat. A wonderful lady adopted him as a single cat and after a month is was clear from his "hiding from her and yet crying constantly" that he was very unhappy although we weren't sure why at the time. When he was returned to his foster home, he continued to cry and hide when released into a room by himself. The MINUTE another cat came into the room he immediately came out and went over to greet the other cat and within minutes he wanted to be petted. He was then anxious to re-introduce himself to the other foster cats and within hours was right at home. He seems to trust other cats more than he trusts people and when the other cat shows trust/affection to a person, Hillman follows their lead. Check some of Hillmans pictures to see his close relationship with the other foster cats. As Hillman's foster home here are some of the behaviors I've noticed. 1. He is in the window when I drives up from work and then runs to the door to greet me. 2. When preparing his dinner, his purr is so loud it fills the whole room. 3. He does like to check out the food in everyone else's bowl but he is a gentleman and if the other cat objects he backs off. 4. When I sit down at night, Hillman curls up next to me but generally not before another cat has also taken a spot on the couch. 5 When I scratch Hillman's butt or his head or rub his tummy lets me know how much he likes it with his purr and also licks my hand or arm with his sandpaper tongue for long periods of time. 6. So far he has not met a cat he doesn't like. Some of them don't like him but he respects that and has a sense of how far to push his attentions. He is usually the one that approaches another cat, however, he was a little taken aback when 3 month old kittens joined the foster home and they enthusiastically approached him It didn't take long though before he head butted them and made them feel at home. 7. Although he loves to be petted and will roll over for a good tummy rub, if I lean down to kiss him on the head or try to restrain him too much, he runs away. Outlined below is Hillmans history and progress as he adjusted to his foster home and settled in to some of his above quirkiness. .Hillmans Rescue Story. Hillman has been seen around an office building for over a year now. At first he was too scared to get close to those that fed him, but once he learned they could be trusted, he did a total turn around. He's about 2 years old and neutered, so it's obvious he had a home at some point in his short life. Adopt A Stray recently found a foster home for him and he is relishing regular meals, shelter from the rain and someone to love. Update: Hillman is out and about with the other cats in his foster home. It took a couple days before he felt comfortable leaving the room where he was first fostered, but now he enjoys exploring the other rooms hanging out on the screened in porch or looking out one of the windows. Hillman definitely went out of his way to get along with the other cats. He is wonderfully affectionate when approached slowly but is easily spooked by loud noises or sudden movement. Sometimes he scurries away, but sometimes he just cowers a little. It makes us wonder what bad experiences he may have had trying to survive outside. Update2: From the beginning of his rescue Hillman was always friendly when you sat quietly with him in his foster room but was easily spooked outside of that area and with any fast movement. Its been wonderful seeing Hillman get comfortable through all the rooms in his foster home. He can now be approached without running away, loves being petted and is always up for a nice tummy rub. Interestingly though, he takes off if you lean down to kiss him. Not sure what that action means to him, but its not his favorite. He is so st
